The Major Grants Program is designed to improve health by providing increased community access to best, promising, and innovative practice programs and by helping regional agencies with operating support for advancement of the Foundation’s four health goals.
The Major Grants Program matches the Strategic Framework Health Goal #4: Provide considerable funding for expansion of programs that have demonstrated positive impact on the health of children and youth. It is also expected that proposed programs closely match the Foundation’s mission and help achieve at least one of the Foundation’s health goals.
Program Goals:
- Considerably more people, especially children and youth, will be served by programs that improve health.
- Agencies will appreciably expand or improve operations and services so that health will be improved.
- The foundation will build and strengthen relationships with regional organizations.
Strategy: The Major Grants Program is designed to provide considerable, time-limited funding for: 1) best or promising practice program expansion or sustainability, 2) innovative programs, or 3) equipment, salary, supplies, rent, and facility/building rehabilitation or replacement or other forms of operating support. Funds from the Major Grants Program are not to be used for general donations or fund raising drives.
