May 18, 2017

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation (Health Foundation) was recognized by the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) as a Golden Impact Community Partner. This is given to an organization for their commitment to the university and contributions to student success. The College of Health Sciences nominated the Health Foundation.

UTEP created this award to give thanks to those individuals or organizations in the community that invested their time and resources to provide students with a valuable academic experience outside the classroom that has enhanced their education. President Diana Natalicio presented Dr. Jose Prieto, M.D., Board Chair for the Health Foundation with a framed certificate in a shadow box with a photo of the lighted miners pick statue located on campus.

The Health Foundation has partnered with UTEP on many programs and initiatives in eliminating tobacco use, healthy eating and active living, mental health and emotional well-being and health leadership.

The event took place on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the UTEP Tomás Rivera Conference Center on behalf of the UTEP Student Engagement and Leadership Center.
