State funding to support Paso del Norte Trail

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation is pleased to share the good news from the Texas Transportation Commission, which recently approved more than $55 million for 41 projects across the state that will build sidewalks, shared use paths, bike lanes, pedestrian bridges and other safety features for people who walk and ride bicycles for transportation.

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation recently awarded 11 grants totaling more than $1.6 million under the Healthy Kids and the Mental Health and Emotional Well-being Initiatives.

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation (PdNHF) and El Paso County are Reducing the Risk of COVID-19 by taking vaccines directly to men age 18-50 years old in El Paso – all while giving away free movie tickets and other goodies as an incentive to get vaccinated against COVID-19. According to County data and recent PdNHF focus groups, that demographic group is among the least vaccinated and least inclined to get vaccinated in the region.
