The Paso del Norte Health Foundation (PdNHF) is one of the largest private foundations on the U.S. - Mexico border. It was established in 1995 from the sale of Providence Memorial Hospital to Tenet Healthcare Corporation for $130 million. The goal of PdNHF is to carry on the work begun by Providence, and to improve the health and promote the wellness of the people living in West Texas, Southern New Mexico, and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico through education and prevention. The main focus of PdNHF is to help those within the community who are most in need. To envision the region where all people, regardless of socio-economic status, have the knowledge, resources, and environment they need to live healthy lives. (More)
