Disconnected youth engage as museum guides at La Rodadora

At La Rodadora, the only interactive museum in Ciudad Juárez and the largest museum in the state of Chihuahua and El Paso, engaging youth is as important as the next great exhibit.
Through a program supported by the Paso del Norte Health Foundation’s IGNITE Initiative, La Rodadora recruits and trains disconnected youth to be museum guides as a way to get them to participate in the cultural economy of Juarez.

Emily Hartmann named New Deputy Director of PDN HIE

The Paso del Norte Health Information Exchange (PDN HIE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Emily Hartmann as Deputy Director.
Hartmann brings experience in health care consulting and analytics to the PDN HIE. She has also worked on health initiatives for the city of Chicago and the state of Massachusetts.
Paso del Norte HIE is a collaboration of major healthcare partners in the El Paso area. The purpose of the PDN HIE is to share clinical data between healthcare providers to improve health and medicine.

Bowie High School Community Garden featured by Salud America!

The Bowie High School Community Garden (BHS Garden) project is one of six programs in the country featured by Salud America! as Salud Heroes vs. Sugar. The BHS Garden project was selected based on support to fight sugar and bring fruits and veggies to Latino families. The Paso del Norte Health Foundation offices will be open for business on Wednesday, February 17. This is the same day of Pope Francis visit to Juárez.

Jon Law named new Executive Director for Paso del Norte Health Information Exchange

The Paso del Norte Health Information Exchange’s (HIE) board of directors today announced the appointment of Jon Law as the Executive Director of the HIE.

The Paso del Norte Foundation will sponsor the 2016 Paso del Norte Foundation Challenge Fund Program which seeks to: - increase the capacity of nonprofit organizations to improve health, and - inspire charitable giving by offering matching funds for a wide-range of challenge fund events and appeals.

Shift+ Coalition in Luna County are one step closer to reducing substance use among young people.

For years, Luna County has had an active health council and strong coalition focused on reducing substance use among young people. That long-standing commitment from local law enforcement, public health and other community advocates paved the way for Luna County to adopt the first Social Host Ordinance in the Paso del Norte region.
